So, Paramore has been my band addiction for a while now. I'm so into their music that it's kind of sad how much I listen to them. Anyways, few years back they had an album called: All We Know is Falling and probably like two or a month ago, their new album came out, which totally tops the first one and it's called: Riot! They're an amazing band and so talented as well. I'm sure there's fans here! :)

So I know people have been listening to them awhile and I heard of them, but I just listened to them the other day for the first time and like their style. I love the lead singer's voice and I watched some music videos. I like 'em a lot. I don't have any of their albums or songs on my computer or anything, I plan to change that soon. :)

Oh really? That's so kind of you! I'll PM you about that, I'd love some. I like getting new music, it makes me happy. That's how I got introduced to Voxtrot and Elvis Perkins, etc. :) Woooo. Yay Paramore!

Ah, I love Paramore. Can't remember how I found out about them but it was way before All we know is falling was released in the UK because I had to buy the US Import. It's a great album but I eventually stopped listening to it constantly after the 100th time. Then Riot! came out and I jumped back on the Paramore bandwagan. This album, like Alexis said, is so much better than the first. I heard an acoustic version of Hallelujah a while a go and I like it on the album better. Also, can't stop listening to CrushCrushCrush and When it Rains at the moment.

Dude, Alexis you know I love Paramore! And like everyone said, the second album was considerably better from the first one but still All We Know Is Falling had to be one of my favorite albums of the past couple years. Right now, there aren't a little girl singers headlining bands- well good ones anyways, and for all of them to start out so young it's pretty damn amazing.

They're one of my favorite people to see in concert, I saw them last year and even when Hayley was sick- she killed it. Plus, it doesn't hurt that they're pretty chill people but for one thing- Hayley is suuuper short. I'm like, barely 5'5 and she came up barely to my shoulder.

The only thing that I'm not gonna look foward to is now that they're becoming more mainstream, ticket prices are probably gonna go up and a bunch of 11 year olds are gonna crowd the clubs. It's cool to see them getting the success that they deserve, but at the same time- heh, I'm not gonna like and act like I don't like those ten dollar prices and a chance to chill with them after the show.

Yeeeah, I agree with you Alex. I admit, I'm the first one to pop in the mainstream stuff and enjoy it but I hate when everyone catches sniff of the band and all of a sudden, it's the great best thing and you hear people, "Oh yeah, I totally been listening to them since like forever!!"

Like Panic! and Ok Go. hah. I remember Alex and I knowing them a way before they became all famous and now...it's like everyone knows who they are..lol. But even so, I would still listen to Paramore..fame or no fame. Their music is freakn amazing and I loooove how powerful Hayley's voice is. She's sooo freakn cute and it does help that I have the hugest crush on Zac!!! <33 He's my all time favourite.

Aww, I love Paramore. Hayley's voice is purely amazing. I was in love with All We Know is Falling, but now I'm even moooore in love with Riot!. They put out really amazing music and I love that they're getting more recognized for their talent.

This reminds me that I need to go download their albums again since all the music on my iPod got deleted. I wanna listen to them nooow.

Alexis! You rock. You made me love Paramore. I seriously like them and even my manager at work talks with me about them, and Tammi is major music fiend. She doesn't listen to the radio or anything, but she heard them and likes them like me. :D Yes, Hayley's voice is incredible. I love it because she can go super high but she's not screaming you know? She still sings with attitude. So much emotion, the entire band is phenomenal even the acoustic tracks that lovely Alexis gave me kick arse. *nods*

I remember first hearing about Paramore on MTV's ‘You Hear It First (On MTV)’ and yeah, it was right after, All We Know If Falling was released. I liked the previews to the songs that were featured there, so I decided to check them out. Little at the time did I know my interest in the band would grow to such extent. I loved their first album, I listened to it all the time. The way the band plays and stuff, just amazing. And, when I saw the video for Pressure, yeah I loved it. I continued to follow the band, but it wasn’t too long ago that I seemed to stop listening and paying attention mainly because, the band hadn’t been around and were working on their sophomore album. It wasn’t until Misery Business was released that I remembered the greatness of what Paramore was. Soon after, I had Alexis giving me downloads to Riot! and I was hooked again! I still am, for that matter. Yeah, Paramore rocks.

So I've been seeing them on MTV Hits, which is a music video station. And at first, I really didn't listen to Misery Business, but finally I decided to catch the whole video and was instantly hooked on leader singer's voice. It was powerful and she sounds to amazing when she's singing even for acoustic tracks. It's ridiclous how amazing the songs are. I am seriously going to get the cd, once I get paid from work, screw paying my cell phone bill, haha.

Yeah, I'm not huge on them going all mainstream, but their music is amazlying addictive, lol. I still listen to Panic and Ok Go and even one of my more favorite bands, Boys Like Girls, is starting to get big, which really sucks. But they deserve the limelight, for their music and there's not much you can do. You know your a true fan, because you've been listening them for the longest time. But yeah, Paramore, is seriously my new love. Haha.

Yeah I remember when they were on MTV! Those were the days. They're coming the 22nd here, but it's the festival type of shows and I don't do those. You pay 40 bucks and it's a rare chance you'll get to the front without standing by the stage all day waiting. So, I'll just wait for them to come back around in the clubs. They came like 3, 4 times last year so why not again!

WTF? How could I have not commented on this thread before *officially proclaims self to be a butthead*

I started listening to Paramore when 'All we Know is Falling' first came out. I'd heard of them before the album came out, cause I'm really into music, and so I tend to come across a lot of bands before they get popular. I agree with Ashley on the mainstream thing. I kind of liked them better when they were smaller and less known just cause crowds at festivals were smaller and more intimate and stuff, where as now it's like, you have to be at Warped Tour at 6AM waiting to get a decent place in line to run in to be able to see them. (At least in Montreal)

I did go see them at Club Soda (where I stood in line starting at 8 am for the concert, in the snow. I was seriously cold and had to pee so bad) on December 16th, and since my friend works at the club, she got me backstage passes. So I totally got to meet them. They are all awesome, really down to earth people. They don't act like these other bands that get famous and go all 'we're the best.' Nope, they're just fun-loving them. And of course, nostalgic camera people (which suited me just fine!)

Um... because this information needs to be shared:

Jimmy Eat World and Paramore have just confirmed a U.S. co-headline tour
scheduled to kick off in March. Full schedule, on-sale dates and support acts
will be announced shortly.

Said Jimmy Eat World singer Jim Adkins, "We're very excited for the upcoming
tour with Paramore. We got to know them last December while playing festivals
together. They put on a great show and we think it's going to be an awesome bill."

Adds Hayley Williams, "If it all ends tomorrow, we will be happy knowing that we
got a tour with the band that gave us a reason to play music."

So freaking sweet.

Wow Erika. That's pretty cool you heard their first album before it came out dude. I remember them selling like...only 1,000 copies for a long time cause they were so unheard of in the US alone so...kudos for you for knowing a good thing all the way from Canada! Still laughing at how you waited in the cold at 8 AM even though you had backstage passes.

For my "awesome, you actually got into college" present we got tickets to the Paramore/Cute Is What We Aim For/This Providence/Hit The Lights tour they did a couple of years ago before their tickets were like $40. They were awesome and Hayley is seriously the most rockin' kid ever. I know Alex feels like a nerd using an AI of someone she met, but she captures OJ/Hayley's spirit awesomely. Yes, I did give my sister a compliment.

I'm proud of them for finally making it and I disagree with them becoming mainstream is a bad thing. It just means more people are coming to their senses and can recognize what awesome music sounds like. it just bothers me when people think that RIOT! is their first album. Lame.

I've known of Paramore for like a year or two, but never really sat down and listened to them until last summer. I saw them at Warped Tour... it would've been awesome if we were dying from heatstroke, exhaustion, and if Hayley didn't talk so much. They were the last show and after 5 + hours in 100 degree weather.... no. We just weren't in the right mind frame. But that doesn't mean they aren't awesome. Maybe they make it back to Indiana someday.

Ha! I just read that and I totally laughed because that happened to me too, my friend was playing Pressure on the piano and I was singing along and all these little girls who claimed they've known Paramore longer were asking me who sang it and I said Paramore and it was from their All We Know is Falling album and they totally said I was lying because they only had one album and it was Riot! I laughed for a while. Blah.

Yeah, my roommates thought that "Misery Business" was from their first CD because they didn't know about All We Know is Falling or any of the demos/EPs, but yeah. I have a feeling that's going to be happening a lot as they get more and more popular. That, and more rumors/tabloids stuff because that's the kind of society we live in, but yeah. I've been listening to the b-sides from Riot! pretty much all day, and I have "Stop This Song (Lovesick Melody)" stuck in my head.

AWKIF is dope. Really, to know a true fan all you gotta do is mention something from there and problem solved. Though really, it's not that hard to wiki an artist and find out how long they've been around. Anyway, I really wish some of their b-sides were on the album because I enjoyed them a lot and want to play them in my car- but no, they are forever stuck on Limewire. This just reminds me how much I need an ipod hook up installed in my car, but I'm too lazy for all of that.

One thing though, on their Grammy nod... as much as I love them, they're really just a filler nom. We all know it's going to Amy Crackhouse. I don't think they're at the level yet to receive a grammy, let alone be nominated- but I guess if Souljaboy Tell'Em is there bragging then... who am I to speak? Paramore and Souljaboy getting nominated this year really is more of the Grammy and music industry's fault because of their lack of mature talent in my opinion. There's no one really left to nominate- at least mainstream wise. I guess if I got nominated and didn't really deserve to, I'd be laughing to the bank as well.

I read this post before I went to class this morning, and I thought a lot about it, and I have to agree with Alex. As much as I love them, which is an incredible amount as of late, they're totally just filling in an empty slot. They're really just taking off in the mainstream music world, even though they've been around for a while and their latest singles have been getting a bit of radio play, but it's almost like "well, we've got all of these new female artists in the Best New Artist category, but we need one more... Paramore has a female lead singer, throw them in." I mean, they're up against Feist, Ledisi, Amy Winehouse, and Taylor Swift. I agree with Alex, it'll probably go to Winehouse, even if I'd like to see Feist take it, but yeah. I definitely think Paramore is a group to watch over the next year or two, to see where they take this little bit of mainstream notability that they have, but I'm not quite sure their ready for a Grammy, as a band. I love them to death, but they're still a really young band. I don't know. We'll see. I don't really give these award shows much merit anyway.

It's a double post, but I figured this was definitely worth sharing. Paramore's new video for "That's What You Get" premiered today on MTV2, and you can check it out by clicking here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DkCQhD114jc).

Personally, I like it. I'm still not all that pleased with "That's What You Get" as their next single, since I think there are better songs on the album that would have showed a little more variety, but I definitely like the direction they went with the video. Instead of being incredibly stylized like a lot of them are or just being concert footage like the video for "All We Know," it was just Paramore being Paramore. I don't know... after seeing videos and interviews of the band just hanging out, it seemed more natural, and I liked the way it was filmed, both on location in Nashville and in the house set. Some parts were a little too Hayley-centric, but with her being the lead singer, that's difficult to avoid. Overall, I thought it was a great video, though.

My Idiosyncrasies
03-24-2008, 04:20 PM
I agree on some parts. They do have better songs they can choose from. The video actually bored me and about 2 mins in I didn't feel like watching again. They could have worked on a story or something at least.

.....I didn't like it at all!

I feel so bad saying that because I love Paramore so much! I get where the video was going and I liked the idea but what really got me was there was too much Hayley for me and I get that she's the lead singer and her voice is amazing, you really can't deny that but the rest of the guys also make the band as much as she does. There was a good amount of Josh and a little of Zac but where was the Jeremy love? Like honestly, I was watching and I even said outloud, "I know there's another member here." I dunno. I personally did not like it at all, oh well!

Who else seriously thought that "Fences" would've been a more exciting and fitting follow up to "Crushcrushcrush"?

On the real, if their next album is supposed to be going in an entirely different direction then the most logical plan would be to introduce a single that is a little bit different than their first two. That way, when you come out with some electro-punk crap (not to say that they will, but people tend to either go acoustic or techno when they're amateur and want to be different) it won't shock their newfound preppy fanbase TOO much to alienate them.

That being said... playing Frisko Jack has given me a hardcore crush on Jeremy and I'm hooked. Thanks Amanda.

Remember the Stars
03-24-2008, 05:19 PM
I think what I liked most about it was the parts that were very Requiem for a Dream like. The editing was really reminiscent of that movie in a lot of ways, like with the split screens with the guy and girl, and Jeremy was actually in there quite a bit, probably just as much as the rest of the guys. Zac was probably in there the most out of the guys, but I'm glad that they went with a different director. Shane Drake, the guy who directed "Pressure," "Emergency," "Misery Business," and "Crushcrushcrush," has a really interesting style... I mean, he did PATD's "Nine in the Afternoon," so that's clear... but I like Marcos Siega's take on the song. I don't know, I kind of preferred the slower pacing, since it fit the song, but that's just me.

And Chant, I think any of the songs on Riot would have been a better single. Personally, and I've talked to Alex about this in the past, but "When It Rains" would have been an interesting choice to show a little more range. "Let the Flames Begin" would have made an interesting video, I think. "Fences" is just a fun song as far as just picturing a video in your head goes.

I'm looking forward to their next album, though. I don't remember all of the bands they referenced for their new sound, since I lost the quote a while back, but something different is always something that I'm interested in.

Russian Roulette

I honestly like the video, it's very relaxed and natural. Though I can understand the director didn't feel pay much attention to other band members, just seemed to be about Hayley. Hayley's eyes and eyeliner were gorgeous. But I do have to say the best video by far is Crushcrushcrush. Hayley looked amazingly gorgeous and I just loved everything about the video.

I do have to agree, I would have love to see them make a video for one of my other favorite songs, possibly like 'We Are Broken' or 'When It Rains'. 'Fences', I could imagine would be a very interesting video, since it's such a fun and lively song. But then again, I would be able to honestly pick a song, because whatever you have in your head, Paramore manages to surprise you with another amazing video.

Oh, third album? I did not know this. I can't wait. These guys are huge and I know their next album will be as incredible as Riot and All We Know Is Falling. I am so excited now.

It's not so much Paramore not showcasing other band members as it is the media not showcasing other band members. The band has been pretty vocal about it, especially when it comes to the press in the UK, since they seem to really focus on Hayley. That's where the whole 'Paramore is a band' thing really came into being.

I even saw on MTV they were setting it straight that they weren't breaking up (don't keep up with celebs/bands as much anymore) and I was wondering when they were even considering it! Ha. hello...

seeing as Paramore is one of my favourite bands right now thought I'd stop in.

I was surprised to hear That's What You Get was their new single as well. I thought Fences was for sure going to be made as one. But what can you do.

The thing about the video that annoys me, maybe my computer was just off, but when I saw it, the song and her lipping weren't matching up a lot. Those things always get at me.

Is/has anyone seen their show with JEW? I wanted to go so bad but they're not coming to Canada, one of my friends is just going to make the trip to the States to see them but I have an exam the next day. Very upsetting. I always miss/can't go when they come around here. That happens with most bands actually... But yeah, really wish I could go. Some other time I guess.

I've only seen YouTube clips of the shows, and they're not the greatest quality, since no cameras are allowed in most of the venues they've been playing, but from what I've heard, they sound a little rusty, but they're getting better. Apparently they rocked Bamboozle Left, so that's awesome. They're not coming to NC or SC, so I don't know when I'll get to see them unless they add tour dates.

If Paramore doesn't comes to NC when they're touring with Jack's Mannequin, I'm going to be so pissed. They seriously have to come through here at some point this year, especially since they're not doing Warped. Anyway, that tour, which Hayley announced on The Sauce today, starts June or July 25th. Be sure to catch Hayley on TRL this Wednesday.

Wow. I haven't checked in on this in a long time. So unlike me.

Anyways, maybe the best course of action would be to go in order with people's comments. I actually happen to really like 'That's what you get' as a video. I think the song in and of itself is a bit fluffy compared to more real ones like when 'When it Rains' or 'Fences' (which I personally would love). I think I am going along with Chant's reasoning here in that they needed a super mega clip to top Crushcrushcrush and I really don't think 'that's what you get' was it.

I do like the backyard Paramore being Paramore feel to it though. :) That's undeniable.

I am so upset that I have to work on Friday because Paramore tickets go on sale Friday *sniff*. Hopefully I can convince my supervisor to let me off at 12 so I can run to the ticketmaster outlet. :p

i saw that post someone made about the "handwritten book" on ebay. yes, it's mine. hahah. i don't remember being a sad child but i definitely loved horror films at a really young age. i guess that was reflected in this particular assignment. anyway, that's not exactly what i'm posting about. i'm actually posting about the seller of this item. it happens to be my ex-stepfather. who is... well... insane, hence the reason he is my EX-stepfather. so, while i can laugh at the fact that a bit of my past has surfaced, i have to admit i felt like throwin shit when i saw the username. to be honest, i'd love to post his full name. where he works. possibly a phone number??? then all of you could show him what it feels like when your personal life is out there for everyone to put their hands on. fortunately for him... living with him for 7 years wasn't quite enough to make me turn out just like him... or was it?
don't buy it. i'm gonna buy it. hahaha.

Ok I have to admit, I'm a brand new Paramore fan.

I have heard some people talking about therm here but I never got into them. That was until I learned they were doing a couple of songs for the Twilight soundtrack. I find them kind of annoying, I guess when you don't really like something in the first place and then it is everywhere, it makes you hate them, when you never hated them at first, you just didn't like them. Well now I loathe them. I don't hear them that often, they aren't that popular where I live, in fact I hardly ever hear them, late last year and earlier this year they were kind of popular, on the radio a bit but nothing extreme, but I do know some people who listen to them offline, in fact I have a friend who always tells me she likes them, and I tell her great, I don't and then she says "well I liked them before they were popular" and again, I tell her great...but I didn't and I still don't. I just don't find them special, I don't like their sound, and their fans don't help.
