The Best Years
Stars: Charity Shea, Brandon Jay McLaren, Jennifer Miller, Athena Karkanis, Niall Matter, and Randall Edwards.
''The Best Years'' is Canadian teen drama series set in Boston, MA. The show revolves around Samantha Best, who despite bouncing between foster homes for ten years, receives a scholarship to attend the fictional Charles University. The series was created by Aaron Martin, a producer and writer from Degrassi: The Next Generation.
In the pilot episode, it is learned that Samantha's parents passed away ten years prior, causing her to be placed into foster care. Her strong, outgoing personality made it easy for her to make friends; Samantha almost immediately befriends the rest of the show's cast. The newfound friendships and her enrollment in the university become rocky after a drunken accident that causes another student's death, but with luck, honesty, loyalty and determination, her status at the school was saved; her friendships remained rocky for the time being.
The following episodes create strong character development, showing that each character has his extremely negative side as well as positive, while sticking to very realistic storylines. The Best Years has begun focusing on Cynthia, who seems to be mentally unstable, Lee, who is HIV positive and Dawn, who seems to know more about what's going on than anybody else.

So this is my latest obsession.... if you haven't checked it out then you really should if you're a Degrassi fan. Lauren Collins best known for the role as Paige on Degrassi guest starred in the last episode and Cassie Steele (Manny) is set to guest star in the next episode.
