Ahhh! I just got finished watching it and I loooved it! It was much better then the first one I have to say. The moves and songs were also much better. They definitely lived up to the first one, well, at least I think so. Anyone else think the same way?

And Troy/Gabriella finally kissed! It seemed as if it took ever.

OH! And did anyone else notice Miley Cyrus at the very end dancing on the rocks? She was wearing a green shirt and had a flower in her hair...I thought that was cool.

Alright, I'm done now.

I probably wont watch it, ive been watching disney a lot, and although i never really watched the first one (i tried, i was like okay i like Ashley Tisdale, I like Vanessa Hudgens, I like disney so lets give it a try.... and well i kind of stopped watching soon after the karaoke act in the beginning... :-/) but from what i've seen with all the commercials and stuff, i think that the second one probably is better, it just plain looks better, even better colours and dancing... but i probably wont watch it. I tend to not be into musicals though, like except Moulin Rouge and Hairspray [original, i haven't seen the remake].

It was love! OMG! I loved alot of the songs in the new movie, some are on my ipod now. :D And I was excited that Troy and Gabriella finally kissed, it was sweet. But I thought Sharpay seemed even more annoying and mean in the second movie, but it got better towards the end. I loved how Ryan finally broke from her shadow as well and became his own person, in the movie.

And I loved the bloopers at the end of the movie. The last one was funny, when the golf cart wouldn't move. It was classic.

Sharpay did, but I still loved her all the same. Ryan, *sigh* I love Ryan, annd Lucas <3 I loved the whole baseball scene, Ryan totally kicked ass! I did hate what Sharpay did, that was totally not cool. Gabriella and Troy are perfect together. I wanted to slap her when she started to do what she did.

As for the bloopers, they also rocked. Hopefully they'll be a High School Musical 3, I know it's in talks, but they really should do it.

I know! And poor Troy had no idea what was going on. Oh, I loved when him and Sharpay were practicing the song and poor Troy looked so confused and scared. I was cracking up the entire time.

Yeah, there should deff. be a HSM 3, it would be even better, then the second one. Oh, I'm excited now, haha.

Yes, I admit it, I watched HSM 2 last night (and I only just saw HSM for the first time on Thursday night when they replayed the sing along version). Movies like that really just... aren't my thing. I appreciate it for the absolutely riddiculous, over-the-top, campy tween flick that it is, and I think the only reason I didn't kill myself while watching either one of the two HSM movies is because I went into them expecting them to be the worst movies of my life.

I actually think I liked the first one better, the music was better in my opinion. But Zac Efron actually did his own singing in the second, which was nice, and it was really a fun experience, with a giant group of my friends, all laughing and making fun of the movie as we watched it. I adore Ryan, he's so adorable and hilarious - definitely the best character.

As for a HSM 3, I heard that it's actually in the making right now, and that it'll be going on the big screen, not just on Disney channel (oh god, they've taken over television, musicals, and now the film industry? what's happening?! *dies*).

I was so about to make this thread today, lol. HSM2 was amaaaazing! It had great funny moments, really sad moments, and really cute moments. It was pretty cheesy, but I liked the cheese. :P lol. I have to admit... I cried during two scenes, which if you watched, you probably know what scenes. I thought all the actors did really great. The only one I didn't really like as much as KayCee Stroh as Martha Cox and Ryne Sanborn as Jason. I liked Jason in the first movie, but he was just annoying in this. And Martha was just not useful at all in this movie, lol. I loved Troyella, though! :D

Haha, Daph you're not alone on the crying. I cried once, and I'm pretty sure it's one of the scenes where you cried. =[

Heh, I just finished watching this movie, even though I'm probably like the only person in America who's never seen the first. :p I was bored though, it was on, and my mom suggested watching it. I... actually kinda liked it, even if it was incredibly cheesy. Now I wanna see the first one, lol.

Oh, I got all teary eyed myself. It was really sweet, but yeah it was cheesy. The bloopers still get me cracking up, I also like the one where Zac goes to hand Ashley a golf club and the balloons, get tangled up on it and he likes "here, these are for you" haha. xD

I would still freak out, if someone started randomly breaking out in song and dancing. Haha. [/random]

Ha! I just saw the whole movie last night. I only saw half of it on Friday.

Cheesy, yes. Hello? It's Disney. What more do you want from them? But I thought that it lived up to it's expectations. I thought it was just as good as the first one if not better. The singing and dancing was more professional which is good to see. I mean, hello? Why the hell did they need Drew Seeley in the first place? Zac totally can sing by himself. There was more a plot too.

Overall, it was great. Listening to the soundtrack right now. I know... I'm so strange.

I liked it for the most part. Vanessa didn't talk to much, and she didn't have that freakin' long solo like she did last movie and Zac actually sings better than the first dude in my opinion. Or maybe it was just the songs. I loved Bet on it.

Sharpe's brother, whatever his name was, I really ended up liking him in that movie especially when he was doing yoga with his mom.

The only thing that I hated about it really was hearing Corbin Bleu sing. Please stop, you are not the next Michel Jackson.

^Zac didn't exactly sing all by himself in the first movie so that's why his voice sounds different. I personally like Zac's voice by himself and not mixed with Drew Seeley's. Zac can sing fine by himself.

Yeah, like didn't he only do like a few of the speaking/rapping parts in the movie? I still don't get why they singled out Zac to be the only one to have a voice over- he sounds fine. To me, it was just a waste of time and money.

I agree. They didn't need Drew. Zac sang by himself in this movie, and I thought that it was great. He can sing. So what if his voice is a little lower than they wanted? Why didn't they just transpose the music so it would fit him?

What's your favorite song? Mine is either Gotta Go My Own Way or All For One.

I totally agree about Zac's voice. I think it's really good and they didn't need Drew to sing for him in the first one. Although, I love Drew Seely and his voice... Zac is better. lol.

It's really hard for me to pick my favorite songs out of the whole thing, lol. I literally love every song. I think my least favorite is "What Time Is It?", only because they overplayed it so much in promos and I listened to it way too much before it came out, haha. My top favorites are probably "Work This Out", "Gotta Go My Own Way", and "Everyday". And obviously, I especially love the bonus track in the soundtrack "Humuhumunukunukuapua'a" or however it's spelled, lol.

I think my least favorite song is Bet On It. I mean, I'm glad that Zac had a solo because he sang great. But the song was kind of weird, and the whole thing with Troy on the golf field singing the song was kind of strange. I don't know...

What did you think of Sharpay's version of You Are The Music In Me? I personally don't like most Sharpay/Ryan songs, but this was just hilarious! I mean, I still don't like how she made it all up beat with a faster tempo, but watching her perform it in the movie was soo funny. Definitely one of my favorite parts of the movie.

I love "Bet On It" as a song... but the actual scene in the movie really was weird and hilarious at the same time. There was just too many dance moves and facial expressions to make fun of, lol.

Sharpay's version really was funny and I loved that Sharpay yanked Troy into doing it, lol. I always wanted a Troypay duet (even though I'm Troyella), so I loved it. I thought "Fabulous" was really good, too. Oh yeah, and I forgot.. "I Don't Dance" is also one of my favorites. It made me love Lucas/Ryan so much more! Especially the rap part, haha. What'd you think?

Hopeless Dream
08-23-2007, 04:01 PM
Yeah, I agree. I'm 100% Troyella, but I just wanted to see what would happen when Troy and Sharpay do a duet together.

I didn't particularly like the song Fabulous. I mean I got it, and it was a good song for Sharpay/Ashley to do because Ashley really gets the part of Sharpay which is great. But like I said, I'm not really into any Ryan/Sharpay songs. I Don't Dance was okay. I love the Lucas/Ryan interaction. Like how at the end of the game they swapped outfits and were chatting like best friends. But the dancing with the baseball was a bit awkward for me.

Zac Efron was actually better in this movie. I'm sorry, didn't anyone's eyes did a little pop when the song "Work This Out" came on and he did his little smooth feet moves. I tried them until I got them. I rock.

I'm glad this thing evolved into more than Troyella. That would've killed me.

I just want to know why Disney is not acknowledging the obvious. They basically made Ryan into a very lame stereotype of a gay guy, down to his flamouyant clothing, love for the stage and costumes, and being a huge mama's boy. I love how at the end he's paired with the Pop-n-Lock girl. It just looked like a chubby chick and her Will dancing about the place. But I did think his story was cute and I loved how he basically stole the show.

Monique wasn't so bad this time. I was pleasantly surprised.

HSM2 gets 2 thumbs...just cause I loved it.

Crash Into You

I saw this movie last monday, and it did live up to my expectations. I loved how the plot was more complex this time, even if it was a little unpredictable. I was hoping Sharpay would have some sort of reprieve after the events of the first movie, but nothing changed there. I did feel they underused Vanessa in this movie, putting Sharpay and Troy at the forefront of it all. But I love how they handled Ryan's character, it was nice to see him finally change his ways and realise that he didnt need Sharpay.

Hopeless Dream

Yes, I'm glad that Monique added a little more to her role. She definitely did better the second time around.

I'm a fan of Troyella, but yes. I'm also glad to see that the entire movie wasn't Troyella. There was a storyline. But then again, I agree with you Ben. They did underuse Vanessa. Even when my mom was sitting next to me, she said that the movie was all about Sharpay and Troy. I guess I kind of wanted to see more of a triangle than just shooting Ashley all the time planning her evilness.

I've only seen the first one, the second one's not here until, oh, the end of September. It's not really my thing traditionally, but I didn't mind watching the repeat a few months later, and hey, I've been watching the Disney Channel a lot lately, weirdly. My stuffs all after watershed, so there wasn't much on. (Wut? I've been on vacation for a long long time (waiting til October before I have anything to actually, do...)). The shows aren't horrible though. The second one seems to be good, from the clips I've seen. I liked Sharpay in the first, then again, I always like the villains...

I'm sure I had a valid reply somewhere in there...
