View Full Version : Cancelled TV Shows You Want Back

The title says it all. Just post the shows you want back that were cancelled or were just finished...

Gilmore Girls - I know it was kind of their time to leave because there were already seven seasons and we don't want another 7th Heaven thing... But seriously, I loved Gilmore Girls. My favorite TV show ever.

The OC - It was only on for four seasons. I think after Marissa died, it went down and some people stopped watching. Whether you like her or not, she had to be in the show... I admit that I wasn't a huge follower of the OC, but I knew what basically happened. Then I started watching it daily on SoapNet and all of a sudden, I just have this urge to watch them all.

Drive - This show only aired like three to four episodes. Stupid FOX. I was really into this show. This was at the time where The OC and Gilmore Girls was leaving, so I needed a new show to watch. But all of a sudden, they just cancel it! I was soo mad...

There are probably more shows, but those are the ones for now.

Plain and simple... Veronica Mars! It didn't end the way it should have and I really think it deserved another season, regardless of the third season being less than amazing than the first two.

I love Gilmore Girls and The OC, too. With Gilmore Girls, I think their run was near the end, but I just didn't exactly like how it ended. Personally there's a few things I would have changed, lol. And The OC, I hardly watched the last season when it aired, but I loved the show so much before. I really did love the way it ended, though.

Dead Like Me: It was so funny and unique, therefore great. There was always so much going on and it never made any sense to me why they cancelled it. But yeah, Daisy and Mason for life! They are making a movie though, which I am very excited about despite lack of some original characters. I'm kind of in mourning lol.

Carnivale: How....how did they just decided to end it there? There of all freaking places! It was going to get even better than it already had been! I just...I despair. Really. I loved it so much! It gets soooo good right at the very end! The last episode is godly, I swear.

Huff: I've only seen the first season but I know it got cancelled. I really liked it, it was interesting and twisted! If you haven't seen it...go watch the first episode right now!

Ally McBeal: Everybody needs a dose of crazy laugh out loud humour. Ally McBeal did that, really really well too.

Arrested Development: Another comedy show, it is so funny. Seriously, I've never seen a more screwed up amusing family ever. They are the best! Some of the quotes in it still crack me up everytime.

There are probably more too!

This is the greatest topic right now!

Six Feet Under - I mean it ended well, and had five amazing seasons but I still want more. The show was too amazing to end.

Roswell - It had so much going for it, and it did have a lot of fans but I guess it just wasn't filled with enough ugly 30 year old teenagers humping each other in every episode to last?

Popular - WHAT the friggen hell? There is NO reason why this show had to be cancelled, and it gave no warning to it even being cancelled. WB made it seem like it was coming back, and it never came back.

Young Americans - It was a good show with a lot of stuff that other shows didn't have. I don't quite know if it was cancelled as much as it was only written to have one season since it was playing in the summer to substitute off season shows. But it still rocked and I wish it could have been brought back.

2gether - Okay the show ended because Michael died, but it was still funny and I miss it a lot sometimes.

Now What - It didn't last very long but it was very funny and I would have continued to watch it for sure, but I gues it just didn't do well enough to make it?

Dead Like Me - It was so great, it was dark, enjoyable, and creative. It should not have been cancelled.

Everwood - I was never exactly the biggest fan of the show, I mean I watched it during the first season almost religiously, then a lot of stuff happened and I missed a lot of episodes, but i don't think it got a fair ending at all.

Clone High - Okay so I'm a tad biased for the fact that the cast of Scrubs often did the voices of the characters, but the show was hilarious and who doesn't want to see our "great" people from the past act like stupid teenagers in this time?

I'm sure theres more, in fact I know there is but I can't think of any at this time.

^ Oh yeah! Also Everwood. Again, I wasn't a huge follower, but after they started showing it on ABCFamily, I started to really really like it and wanted it back. I hated how they cancelled it to make room for 7th Heaven which should have definitely gone.

Psycho Killer

Exactly that is my biggest problem with the fact that they cancelled Everwood. 7th Heaven has run way too long. It's like give "newer" shows a chance to go down in history, give the old shows a rest...let them go.

I don't watch Veronica Mars, but i agree it shouldn't have been cancelled because from what I heard they didn't even get a proper ending. I have a big pet peeve about that, at least give a show a proper ending if you're going to give them the boot.

Other than Veronica Mars and Gilmore Girls, um: Freaks and Geeks, My So-Called Life, Undeclared, and a few others. I just can't think of them right now.

ANGEL

...*cough* I don't see any reason why it had to be cancelled, that was the worst decision ever -_-. Blah, I'd also like to see BtVs, too...even though that wasn't cancelled, but still, two awesome shows ^_^''.

Tru Calling, too, even though I ended up missing a lot of the second season. Eliza Dushku is amazing, blah, I echo the Fox Sucks statement, they have the worst taste in television shows (usually, heh).

Dark Angel, even though I look back on some of the repeats and am confused at why I ever watched the show, it'd be awesome to have it back too. If nothing but for Jessica Alba .

The OC, although I didn't follow it nearly as much as I did in its earlier seasons, it was a great show, too. Blah, there are probably so much more shows that have been cancelled that I'd love to see back on the air, but my mind is drawing a blank right now. Angel is obviously at the top of the list, though *shakes fist* It could've at least had seven seasons like Buffy did!

Oh yes, Freaks and Geeks so shouldn't have been canceled it was awesome. At least i get movies like Knocked Up to fill the freaks and geeks void. I didn't watch undeclared though.

I liked My So Called Life, but when it was brought to the N they kind of ruined it, because the show was so old to begin with, that to bring it to a channel like N brought it back in a bad way.

There was one show where a kid got to go back in time, it was like fox or the wb i forget, but I liked it, but another show similar to it came out at the same time, but both got canceled. I can't remember the title of either though.

My guide to being a rockstar - I wish it hadn't been canceled i thought it was okay, and Oliver Hudson was on it, and Kris Lemche.

Also I liked Disney's In a Heartbeat, i wish that wouldn't have been canceled either.

Tru Calling - May FOX burn in hell. They ended this amazing show at the point where it was just getting better and better. This show was unique and had a great plot and characters. I mean, who does not LOVE LOVE Shawn Reeves!?

Gilmore Girls - Gaaah! I love this show and it's really unique characters. No one can annoy as Taylor and no one is funnier than Lorelai. It makes us want moooooore.

Veronica Mars - No comments. I am still crying for all I'm worth. Thanks alot, assholes - I mean - The CW.

Charmed - My first big TV love. I miss it and I need to watch the eighth season. I am a bad fan to not have. But atleast the show is not over for me. Yet...Blah.

The O.C - I am sorry, I am busy CRYING MY EYES OUT.

Angel - I have not seen the whole series, but I will sure want more of my favourite vampire when I have. This show is amazing.

Buffy The vampire Slayer - Just because it was not cancelled does not mean I am not left missing it!

Firefly - I.Hate.FOX. And I love Firefly. DUUUH!

Killer Instinct - You give me some killer instinct, FOX. u_u

Also I liked Disney's In a Heartbeat, i wish that wouldn't have been canceled either.

I loved In A Heartbeat! Hehe... I don't really remember it, but I thought it was pretty good for Disney.

Yeeeah, It only got like 900,000 viewers each week, so they took it off the air. Like there use to be two new episodes on the day it was on because they wanted to get it off as fast as possible because it did so bad but I enjoyed the show! I loved it!

Life as We Know It Apart from the fact that it had Sean Faris and Chris Lowell on it, this series actually rocked! I was gutted when it got cancelled after only 11 episodes, it was a great show.

Crossing Jordan--By the time I got really into the show, it was cancelled. :( I loved the characters, and the plots were really good!

Gilmore Girls--The writing in this show was genius, especially the Lorelei banter.

I so totally agree with you on that one, I really miss Firefly, Tru Calling, and Dark Angel, I was expecting all of these shows to go into Season 3,4 and five, but did Fox give any of these a chance? NO! They did want they friggin wanted and pulled the damn plug!

Now that I have actually seen it: Arrested Development. It was so funny and had so many memorable lines/scenes. Especially from GOB. The show was such an awkward lovable comedic mess :(.

Breaking Dawn
12-02-2007, 12:39 AM
Crossing Jordan: The characters were so fun to watch and the cases always rocked. Six seasons and no ending. What kind of respect is that NBC?:grumpy:

Popular: The WB told them to make a cliffhanger ending. "Don't worry, we'll pick you up." Bastards!

Veronica Mars: The CW Sucks. Nuff said.

Do Over: Such a fun show to watch when I was younger. I can barely remember it now though.

Maybe It's Me: Like Do Over, I can barely remember this show, but i remember loving it.

The Practice: I want it back mostly so it can redeem itself for it's terrible final season.

Judging Amy: Such a nice, wholesome show. It's what 7th heaven only dreamt it could be. I miss it so much.

Joan of Arcadia: A fun and quirky show that I still miss.

Dead Like Me: :chairshot: Die Showtime Die!

Arrested Development: I've been watching the first season and it was so funny.

Boston Public: David E. Kelley created the best High School Drama ever. Damn you FOX!

Drive: My entire family was gutted by the cancellation. We all loved it.

Undressed: I was way too young to be watching this show, but it was so good.

Close to Home: I just started watching this show recently and it is beyond amazing! Damn CBS.

Joan of Arcadia-I used to be such a loyal fan. Probably because I thought Adam was hot. But still, the actual premise was good.

The OC-Damn I miss it. I didn't watch season 4 because I thought it got lame. Like honestly, Taylor and Ryan? I so didn't see that coming. Eew. But I would keep watching if they managed to kill of Taylor somehow. :)

There are alot of shows I seriously want back...especially if I doscover them after they're cancelled. That really sucks.

But I watch some of them on hulu...and then I just buy DVD sets for the rest.

Happy Ending
01-05-2008, 10:06 PM
Dark Angel : For one I didn't like how they ended it, Max and Logan holding hands .... I wanted them to fix the virus so they could be together!

Life As We Know It: I only discovered this a while back and I was so disappointed it was axed I don't know how to explain this but it had something different which wanted me to sit down and want more of it.

Tru Calling: Well hello this show was top notch, I'm still to this day trying to figure out what Fox is on!

Life On A Stick: Ok not top notch but still funny and I could sort of relate to it being based on kids who've just graduated High School again another Fox Show...

Veronica Mars: The ending sucked the end.

Dinotopia : The Series - It should of had a better ending !

Popular: Great funny show that should of been left alone WB sucked and still suck as the CW.

Now that I think about it, I wish Life As We Know It was back on! I thought it was such a wonderful show and never saw a show like this. I know so many people who enjoyed it, so I never understood how it got off but eh, I ordered my DVD set because Amanda is awesome and told me they had the season out and of course, I didn't know because I'm lame but yeah! I'm excited to have it! :]

Amen to that! Fox sucks!

Firefly, Killer Instinct, Angel.....

KILLER INSTINCT. I absolutely loved that show, I would so want it back, and yay to you for suggesting that show. And Firefly too and Angel.

But yeah they should bring Killer Instinct back. I so loved the interaction between Jack and Danielle it was great, and I was convinced something was going on there or might soon happen.

Firefly - Pretty much did not deserve to be cancelled.

F.R.I.E.N.D.S. - I'm completely not over it at all. I think it was the best show eeeeever. Then, also, I loved Gilmore Girls.. But Friends is top top top of the shows I would want back. Another show that I loved and is the reason why I started RPing and going to boards is Charmed. So those three are the ones I'd love to watch back. Charmed would definatelly be better with Shannen Doherty though.. But that would be imposible. either way, thats my input, lol

^ I have three friends are that are OBSESSED with the show Friends. Obsessed. I never really followed the show, but they kind of make me want to start watching it. I've seen some episodes here and there, and it's kind of funny. But I've never really kept up...

Joan of Arcadia: A fun and quirky show that I still miss.

Dead Like Me: :chairshot: Die Showtime Die!

True statements, all around! BAH.

Anyways...okay, I'm going to go major old school on all y'all's asses. :p Recess. Srsly, guys. Best animated show EVER. I was so totes in love with Spinelli (whose voice, Pamela Adlon, does Bobby Hill on King of the Hill! WaaahWTF!!), and and and...it was just such a great show. Oh man. I miss it so hard.

And FAWLTY TOWERS. Okay, so teeeeechnically it wasn't cancelled, they just ended it because John Cleese (= god) was apparently having personal problems. At any rate, this might in fact be my favorite show EVER. Andrew Sachs + John Cleese = best comedic duo of all time. Yes, I said it. Of ALL TIME.

Life as We Know it I friggin loved this show, and I can't believe they cancelled it after twelve episodes, if they network didn't mess around with it so much maybe it would have stood a chance.

Cashmere Mafia I really got into this, and again I don't feel like the network gave it a chance at all.

Buffy, which I kind of have back (thanks to the comics).

Firefly, which really should not have been axed.

Gilmore Girls, which had the best dialogue ever.

My So-Called Life, which rocked my socks off.

These shows are very writer friendly, which is why they're so popular with the RPG crowd, I guess. They employ lots of wordplay, character development, and cultural references.

The OC
I lived and breathed this show during the final two seasons! I'm totally kicking myself for not following it from the very beginning. I mean, did they even reach 100 episodes?!
I felt like the finale was too... weird. Like, too perfect almost. I didn't want that show to end! I literally bawled my eyes out during the last episode. I used to be happy that we got it only hours after it had aired in the US, but now I wish we had to wait two years or something to make it last longer *sigh*

Charmed
*sobs like a baby* ='[[[
WHY did they cancel Charmed? I haven't really read into it, but seriously- it sucks that it's over. I'm a huge fantasy/magic fan, so this series was absolutely perfect. *sigh* Missesitsomuch.

Veronica Mars - Stupidest series-cancellation-desiscion ever. :( Why oh why?

Traveler This show deserved so much more than eight episodes! It had such potential!
