Board Suggestions

The staff of Perfect Ending try their hardest to be creative and keep the board as up-to-date and fresh as possible. Unfortunately, we can't always think of everything. If you would like to make suggestions for Perfect Ending, then feel free to post them in this thread for the staff to take under consideration. We love hearing feedback from out members and are always looking for ways to improve the board. Please remember that this thread is only for board suggestions.

I think you should have a writers board/pre planning board. This way if you need help with a plot, need a co-owner, have a great idea but don't exactly know how to put it into words or mabye just get reveiws you can find some help and/or critique.

That's a great idea and actually we have been thinking about doing something along those lines. We would like member feedback and suggestions about future rpgs, since we're planning on keeping them coming and we want them to be rpgs that members will want. We are still working out the details on that, but hopefully at some point soon you will be seeing somewhere where members can have, though until then feel free to make suggestions here :).

We do have a forum for members to create their own rpgs. People may set up sign-up threads and plan out their rpgs and have the ooc thread here (http://www.perfect-ending.com/forumdisplay.php?f=14) and the actual play for those rpgs is here (http://www.perfect-ending.com/forumdisplay.php?f=15). We will also be taking members input about new big rpgs that they'd like to see, and if everyone likes the idea we might then go on to set those up, but we're still trying to decide how that all should work. And aside from the rpgs currently up we have several more in the works :). Hopefully, that answers your question somewhat.

Can I make some avatar suggestions really quick?

I know that myself personally would like to see some more Milo Ventimiglia. I know there's already a few in the Heroes section, but I think that man is hot enough to deserve some in the Actors section. Add to that some Buffyverse [Eliza Dushku, James Marsters, Nathan Fillion, and Summer Glau to name a few] and some Evanescence ones, also. If it's not too much trouble, and I would love you all forever.

If you need me to provide the images I can do that. I have more than enough to go around.

Definately keep the contests coming! I love the scheme contest, and I think things like that keep people active and interested. Maybe after this one, a writing contest? More graphic contests?

Can I make some avatar suggestions really quick?

Maybe a contest for submitting avatars? People could send in, like, 20 (30? 40?) avatars, and everyone could vote on which ones to have added into the avatar selection (not individually - I mean, each person would submit a clump of avatars, and they could vote on which clump in general they like the most... that way there wouldn't be hundreds of choices)? That way, people get more avatars that they want, and it saves trouble for all the staff having to make them.

I like both ideas, both are equally as good. I like the idea of the Avy contest though.

Personally, since I am that kind of person who really likes sitting and doing stuff in Photoshop when I am bored, I would like the thread-idea. That the staff could choose between the pictures that would be posted there. But the contest thing would be a good suggestion too although, I would rather like to see a thread where you can post at any time :)

Yeah, we are currently trying to figure out a avatar contest because we definitely wanted to have one of those next. And a writing contest is a very good idea as well, and I'll talk to Kat and the rest staff about it, but an avatar contest will more than likely be next after the scheme contest is over. :D

And we've been considering an avatar donation thread, but our only issue with that is in the past, there have been issues with other boards claiming that avatars were stolen from their board (this was on another board I was an admin at once), and also we don't want to be constantly adding avatars and everything. However, we do want you guys to be able to donate, so we will definitely look further into maybe letting you guys post some links to pictures and we can make them into avatars when the next batch is added. So yeah, keep a look out. As soon as Kat gets online, I'll talk about it with her more. It's great you guys wanna donate though, it means a lot! :D

The next week or two are really hectic for a few staff members with school, so we might be moving a little slower with things than we have been, so I apologize for that in advance. I know a lot of boards seem to have this system running, but I think it might be cool to have it on this board too and have a sort of member of the month system, but have it like role-player of the month to fit the theme of the board. The title would go to someone who is helpful around the board, active and kind toward fellow members aswell.

This would in some way go along with an avator creating contest, but it seems that some of the members want certain schemes icons so there could always be a header contest or something like that. I know that some other boards do it. Then, the headers are voted on and a scheme is created.

It's not something that I personally would be good at, but there are some members who aren't artistically challenge who could enjoy it. Just a thought.

I absolutely love some of the RPG Themes (especially those in 'Oceans Away'). I was wondering if it was possible to make those themes accesible to the entire board. I am in love with the London scheme and would really like to use it throughout the board.

The only problem with making those schemes available for the rest of the board is that I had to go in and specially edit the coding so that when a member posts in those games, the Character name, avatar, etc shows up. So if you were to use it for the rest of the board, your normal username and avatar wouldn't show up, and if you weren't a part of the game, nothing would show up. (If that makes annnny sense lol). Anyway, I am definitely glad you like them, but it would take a lot of time for us to make duplicates of those schemes and edit all the coding, so unfortunately we can't make them available for use outside of the game. :(

I'm new, right? So I spend a lot of my time on this site following characters around and getting to know them. One thing I've noticed is that when you click the character name and it tells you who plays the character, who portrays it, and gives you a link to the character's residence is that the board doesn't provide a link to the biography. The same is true when you go to a member profile and, in the section that displays the profiles for all of the characters played by that member, you see e-mail addresses, myspace pages, and cell phone links, but the name of the character isn't a link to the bio. If characters are related to other characters, (In New York, for instance, Justin and Lacey are married) I'd also like bio and profile links to those relatives. It would make it easier for me to follow the story.

I don't know how complicated it would be to do that, so feel free to ignore me if I am unwittingly demanding the blood of your firstborn. I just think some additional linkage would make it easier for me, personally, to get to know the characters and their respective stories a little better.

I suggest a thread for OOC conversation not just for one game, but for the entire board. I don't want to just up and start it, though, because I don't want to inadvertently break any rules or copy a thread I just can't seem to find.

I was looking for such a thread today, actually, because I wanted to post a general thank-you to the mods. The mods have been doing a great job, lately. I mean, in the short time that I've been a member, they've kind of overhauled the site, worked on organizing two new RPG games, (the soon-to-come and much anticipated RA and Mirror Mirror) and made some really neat changes to Castle Heights. That got me thinking: I'd like a thread in which we can post general compliments. Today, obviously, I wanted to compliment the mods (because they rock!). Maybe tomorrow, someone will make six brilliant posts for six different characters and I'll want to recognize that person. Maybe the next day, a group of people will play out a really funny or intriguing scenario for a family or a group of friends with roots in/ties to a couple of different games, and I'll want to compliment everyone on the group dynamic. I guess I'm looking for a thread in which I can compliment people sort of across the board rather than as related to a specific game or character. What can I say? Compliments are cool.

That said, I am also color-blind. Sometimes, I have a hard time reading/viewing some of the stuff in some of the RPGs. Could we maybe have the option of making our main scheme cascade down and be used on the entire board instead of using default, RPG-specific schemes? Most people won't want to use that options, (because most people will want to see the pretty graphics) so it's cool if you don't wanna include it. I just thought it would be nice in case some other color-blind folks wanna RPG.

What about reputation comments? We have those on the Buffy Boards. It's cool. We get points when people agree with our posts and we lose points when people disagree. The points don't really add up to anything except funny usertitles, but it's still a fun, neat feature. I think it would be nice to just add a rep comment to a post saying something like, "Wow! Great post!"

I'd love it if you could re-do Enchanted scheme it's nice but now it's on DVD you can get sooo much better pictures and make the header even prettier then it is (also funnier include Pip!) and possibly a change of color the yellow is nice but for me Enchanted yells blue!

What about a RANDOM button? Clicking it would take you to a randomly selected in-character post in a randomly selected game. It could be a neat way to discover new stories and/or characters.

Ummmmmmm... Amanda's last post kinda messed up my train of thought of why I was really here, but I was thinking about how hard it is for me to keep up with storylines I want to read and want to know about... but don't.

So, can we have a recap thread in the RPG forums were people can post what happened like an episode sypnosis and direct us to the RPG to read it? It'd be haaaaaaaandy...

Am I the only one who posts in here?! I feel like such a neeeerd. In any case, I know some people have taken it upon themselves to be "teachers" on Perfect Ending and take people under their wing when it comes to RPing, but I thought it could be a fun way to earn prizes and get practice if we had classes. I actually taught one on another board and it really worked well. Here's a blurb I used on a board of mine from back in the day, just to give you some idea of what I mean.

New to RPing and have no clue what you're doing? No worries! We have some awesome classes here for you where you can practice and learn in an controlled enviroment and earn suweeeeet prizes along the way. Currently we offer 5 classes with seasonal master classes you are able to take at anytime. At every graduation of role playing classes taken consecutively you will earn small perks and prizes for your characters in role playing games. Sign up below for a roleplaying class as soon as it is available.

When a class has started, you will receive a PM from your teacher alerting you when and where your classes will start and what to expect.
