Woot! frist post! ^^hey the above has a typo, thought you should know.
Currently reading Dragon Rider by Coralina Flunke.
Last book I finished was New Moon By Stephanie Meyer
It is the sequel to one of my all time favorite books, Twilight. I never thought the sequel could be better. It wasn't but still an exellent read. The begging chapters were great but in the later chapters of the middle I just felt as if it was just dragging on and on. I found myself saying alot of things like "I get it already can we move on now." It's the reason it took me over three months to read(I stopped reading for a while) and have about a ten dollar library fine to pay. Oh well, it was worth it. In the last five chapters or so the pace really picked up. I found myself reading everychance I could get(with school and stuff. I only started reading it agian today but I finished woot! HUGE CLIFFHANGER! I can't wait to read the next one.
Rating: 9/10(would be 10/10 exepect for the few dragging on chapters)

^ OMG New Moon is SO good. I read it a few months ago and I do agree with the dragging on in a couple chapters. Twlight (which is the book that I'm currently re-reading) is my all time favorite book. I am in loooove with Edward and Bella, lol. Though I do love Jacob too. Eh, I love everyone. I'm not really sure which book I like more, but I really can't wait to read Eclipse. August cannot come fast enough, lol.
The book I finished last was Silver is for Secrets. It's the third book in the 'Blue is for Nightmares' series by Laurie Stolarz. Christina (Vicious Trollope) got me into the series a while ago. I still have to read the last one, but I love the books so far. They don't really drag on too much and each book really takes on it's own story. The characters change so much during the books, I've found myself saying how much I love one character in one book and then how much I hate them in the next. lol. It took me a little while to really get into Silver is for Secrets, but it's a really good book. *nods*
Um, yeah. I guess that's two (well, three) books that I went on about... really didn't mean to do that but, yeah...
Twlight Rating: 10/10
New Moon Rating: 10/10
Silver is for Secrets Rating: 9/10

Right now I'm reading the Wicked Series by Nancy Holder (famous for her Buffy books and Pretty Little Devils) and Debbie Viguie. Right now I'm on Curse. But here's a summary of the first two book in which I bought in a special addition.
Holly Cathers' world shattered when her parents are killed in a terrible accident. Wrenched from her home in San Francisco, she is sent to live with her relatives, Aunt Marie-Claire and her twin cousins, Amanda and Nicole.
In her new home, Holly's sorrow and greif soon give away to bewilderment at strange incidents going on around her. Such as how any wish she whispers to her cat seems to come true. Or the way a friend is injured after a freak attack from a vicious falcon. And there's the undeniable, magnetic attraction to a boy Holly barely knows.
Holly, Amanda, and Nicole are about to be launched into a dark legacy of witches, secrets, and alliances, where ancient magics yield dangerous results. The girls will assume their roles in an intergenerational feud beyond their wildest imaginations... and in doing so, will attempt to fullfill their shared destiny.
I give it a 9/10... since i'm such a fantasy fan. The villian comes across as a little tacky, but it's really good overall.

I'm multitasking between reading two books, not at the same time though. The first book I'm reading is Evil Under The Sun. EUtS revolves around the plot that in this hotel on a vacation island is this young, attractive girl named Arlena Stuart whom is loved by all the guys and hated by all the girls; soon thereafter she is found strangled to death on a cove near the hotel. Then, a detective is sent in to investigate and the rest is history. It's a really good book and reminds me so much of Veronica Mars as in the subject matter.
I'm also trying to read The Maltese Falcon after I finish reading Evil Under The Sun. The Maltese Falcon is supposed to be the basis of Detective/Mystery Fiction so I'm excited to read it. :D

Right now I'm trying to balance reading six books. Four for school, and two for fun.
For school: Nectar in a Sieve by Kamala Markandaya
1984 by George Orwell
Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
Seventh Son by Orson Scott Card
For Fun: The Mummy Case by Elizabeth Peters | This is one of the books in
Elizabeth Peters' Amelia Peabody Mysteries Series. The entire series is
about a woman archeologist and her family in Egypt. It's funny and this
is probably the fourth time I'm reading... something about re-reading
books that makes it easier to deal with those books you have to read.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by JK Rowling | I
decided to re-read all the HP books in honor of book 7 being
released this year. GREAT READ! Then again the world knows
that ;)

Am reading two books at the moment...
Eldest by Christopher Paolini - This one is basically just because I'm a dork and I love the Inheritance Trilogy. I had went on a trip a week ago, and a friend lent it to me to read while I was there since it's super long. But it's actually my favorite book in the Trilogy thus far (still waiting for the third one xD) and it's nice to reread. This is only my second time through, so I haven't been able to over analyze the book and go really nuts over it yet. xD
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury - I have to read this book for English, and it's actually not too bad. I just started it today, and am about 20 pages in, but I'm liking it. Bradbury's style of writing is unique to himself alone, and he is a really interesting way of putting you into the scene - making you feel it with every sense. He doesn't just tell you what's going on, he draws you right in. It's really enjoyable so far, although I'm not sure what turn it'll take. I was hesitant to read it at first, unsure if I'd like it since it was written a while ago and I usually prefer more contemporary writing styles, but it's been pretty good. The concept itself seems brilliant. xD

Christine Daaé

Son of a Witch - Gregory Maguire. It's not as good as Wicked but that's mostly because it's a lot darker. And it's not got enough Galinda in it. But it's not too bad. And one of my fave Wicked actresses is reading it atm lmao ;)

I'm thinking that when I've finished reading this small pile of books I've started I may read The Picture of Dorian Grey again. I absolutely LOVE that book, and I must have read it about five times, It's one of the only books that I own that I've read that many times, but I never get bored of it.
I also read a couple times one of my mums books, can't remember the name of it, but it was one of those ones set in the war and I can't remember who the Author is, but I was so hooked on it, and usualy I'm not really that keen on some of the books my mum reads, but this one I couldn't put down. As soon as I found it, I'll let you know who the Author is and what it's called.

Well I have to read three books for my summer reading for school, so I'm currently trying to do all of those right now:
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
Kidnapped by Robert Louis Stevenson
Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe
Right now I hate Robinson Crusoe. It's just so boring and hard to get through. I like the other ones though. I watched the Disney movie of Kidnapped when I was little, and loved it. So I'm really optimistic about that book. And well, the Bronte's are just awesome.

Notes From a Small Island - Bill Bryson
Yes...it is a travel book, but it does not read liek one at all. Trust me! I loathe non-fiction. hehe.
This book is so funny! Bill Bryson, born in Iowa I believe, spent about 20 years of his life living in England following a backpacking trip that he went on during college. More recently moved he, his wife and 4 children back to the United States. This book was written on his farewell tour around England before his move back to the US. If you are fascinated by England and you enjoy sarcasm you will love the book. I seriously cannot stop laughing.
Not sure if you need to have been to England to understand or appreciate the book or not. One woman told me that she thought I was too young to appreciate the jokes, but I got them so...not sure how true that is.

I read, not too long ago, Don't Tell Mummy - can't tell you who the author is cause I lent it out to a work colleague. It's one of those psyhocologically draining books that's a true story and tended to flick between her present self and her kid self, and compare and contrast her personalities between the different timezones. It can be hard to get into at places though.

I finally finished Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert A. Heilein last week. I kept forgetting about it, but yay for long train rides. :) Anywho, it was fantastic and I can see why Willie liked it so much, he doesn't even like reading. :p
Now I'm finishing up "A Life Less Ordinary" by John Hodge, it was made to a movie or the other way around... he was the screenwriter of Shallow Grave and Trainspotting. It's a quick but good read, to the point and witty for such a short book. :) I'm enjoying it and want to see the movie, hehe.
I'm also going to be reading The Importance of Being Earnest again (it's by Oscar Wilde) because it's assigned for class whereas for senior year English in high school, I picked it instead of having to read my teacher's lame book hahahaha. I'm sooooo happy to read it again.
I need to finish the Tempest too, I had been procrastinating and due to not having my paper done I hadn't finished it. I love Shakespeare though so it's a given that I'll like it and I think I've seen a film adaption. ^.^ So need to wrap that up then I can move on to the book my cousin wrote, one of the few nonfiction books I own. Correio Feminino (Female's mail) by Clarisse Lispector. It is about her submitted newspaper small stories to women in a time when they were supposed to do nothing but serve their husbands. Clarice's a very famous writer and she'd have to use fake names to write because she was afraid she'd make the people who read her literature books not want to read them anymore because writing those columns wasn't a prestigious job. It's a nice book.
Entrando pela janela (Coming in through the window) it is a book about the "student's love towards school". I have only started so i cant give much input but i think it will be a great book to read granting i want to work in that department after i finish my Psychology major.

Tweak by Nic Sheff - A detail account of the son of David Sheff author of Beautiful Boy. These novels are pretty much a pair since they are the same story from two different points of view. So far it's amazing, gritty, real, and overall a great read.
Masquerade by Melissa de la Cruz - I'm re-reading this since I'm working a project for ES about it. It's the second novel in the Blue Blood series. If you love vampire fiction, then PICK this up!

On The Road by Jack Kerouac. I read it a long time ago and suddenly had this urge to read it again. And I got it at a really awesome discount, so I bought it. <33

The Choice by Nicholas Sparks. Yup, his books are all a little similar. But I like reading them anyway. Well....I'm actually trying to read it, since I'm constantly getting distracted by a million things. lol

Skin by Roald Dahl, it's a collection of short stories. Some are really good and clever, but this one I just read was... meh. I think I understood but it's not as good as the earlier ones I read heh. I liked The Sound Machine a lot.

Twilight - Nadya's been telling me to read it for ages. And I finally decided to after watching the film trailer and having no idea what was going on. All I can say is OMG why the hell did I wait so long to read it?

New Moon - Stephanie Mayer
I loved Twilight and I've only just started this one, but it's really good so far, and I'll probably be just as hooked. I love Edward/Bella, and I quite like Emmett/Rosalie.

Still working on Skin, no offense, but it's making me lose interest as the stories go on. >.< But I did finish Masquerade within two days like I did with Blue Bloods. It was verrrry good and the twist/cliffhanger in the end! Ahhh. Can't wait for the next one. I think I'm actually going to begin A Clockwork Orange because these short stories are not cutting it right now. So might as well read this book and see the differences between the movie and stuff. ^.^

Belle de Jour by Anonymous. Already half way through it and I bought it for $6. It's a hardcover too. It's a fantastic/witty/hilarious/graphic read. I love it. It's a diary of this call girl in the UK and she wrote a blog too. Twas a bestseller. What's great is this is a real account. I felt for her a lot throughout and she's just so effing funny. Her humor rocks and she has a gift for expression.

7th Heaven by James Patterson. It's taking me forever to get through the book and its really easy to read, but I guess I'm not enjoying it enough. It's not as good as the first set of Women's Murder Club books, but its readable. And I can't stop halfway through it. meh

Book-wise, I'm reading this book called Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin for school, and Greg is gonna be coming to my school to talk to the entire freshman class during the first week of the semester. I plan to read three more chapters by the end of the weekend; it's a good book, I just don't have much time to read it. That's a lie; I have plenty of time, I just spend it all roleplaying and hanging with friends before we go off to our respective schools this fall.
At this precise moment, though, I'm reading a Harry Potter fanfic called Draco Sinister. Possibly my favorite HP fanfic ever. I haven't read it in a while, sooooooooo yeah. Rereading it, because it's just THAT good. All twenty-some-odd chapters of it. The author of it is now a published author out in the real world. :)

I'm currently reading a book called Sex God by Rob Bell. I'm not religious at all really, and it has a lot of religious undertones and references, but it's still really interesting. I'm not very far into it yet, though, so I can't really recommend it or say anything against it at this point.

I am reading Atonement by Ian McEwan and the description is maaaaadness, but it maintains my attention somehow! I've seen the movie but I am liking the book better so far, I am getting more backstory on the vase and inside Briony's mind to see what she saw or thought she saw anyhow. Also Cecilia's thoughts are quite funny.

Kingdom Come || Mark Waid & Alex Ross
Ordinarily I wasn't into the whole graphic novel...thing, but since Jess had a class on it this past semester I was forced to be exposed to a lot of it and found that, low and behold, it's some pretty interesting shiz. 'Specially the DC ones. I must confess, this book is well on it's way to making me a serious DC Superhero geek. Which, though geeky, is quite enjoyable as of now. :) Picture all of your favorite DC Superheroes/Villains coming together in an epic story and you've got it in a nutshell.

Lucky by Alice Sebold.
It's her memoir from the rape incident when she was at Syracuse. It's incredible how she was able to put it all down and make it into a book. And I absolutely love the way she writes.
