Guidelines for Writing a Tutorial

Title your thread with the name of the tutorial. Try to make this as clear as possible so people understand what the tutorial will do without entering the thread. Example: “Glowing Text Effect” or “How to Use Layer Masks.”
When posting a tutorial thread, you must have the following form in the post before you get to the actual tutorial:
Skill Level: (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)
Program: (PSP, PS, etc) (Say which one you used, but if for example an earlier version of photoshop will work just as well, be sure to note that or if it will work in both PS and PSP or in some other graphic program, be sure and make note of that too).
Summary: Briefly explain what the tutorial will do.
Example: Provide a link to an image example of the effect so people can see how it looks.
If you do not have this form at the top, the thread will be deleted.

Once you have created the thread, post a text link with the thread title in the Tutorial Index thread so it can be added.

Tutorial Tips
Sometimes words are not enough. It can be very helpful to include screen caps so people can see what you are doing.
Try to the tutorial up into steps instead of clumping it all into one big paragraph. It will be easier to read and understand.
Be as CLEAR and CONCISE as possible. Keep the tutorial as simple as possible. It will not be useful if it is so cluttered that people cannot understand it.
All tutorials you post MUST BE YOUR OWN. If you want to link people to good tutorials that someone else created, post them in the links thread.

For Tutorial Readers
If you read the tutorial and it works, post it to say so! Similarly, if the tutorial did not work out at all, let the author and the other members know. Rudeness will not be tolerated, but feedback is very important. You may also post questions in the tutorial thread if you’d like something to be further explained by the person who wrote the tutorial.
