A polite, handsome, well-respected lab technician for the Miami Dade police department who also happens to be sociopathic serial killer has learned to rein in his homicidal impulses with the help of his foster father and murders only those who truly deserve it.
Yeah, so who's seen it?

One of my favorite shows ever... I wish the season was not over.

I have the first season on DVD, but I just haven't had the time to watch it. I've heard such good things about it, though. I really need to find the time to watch it because Alex is going to kick my butt if I don't.

I don't know about this, but they're gonna be putting edited versions on CBS or something. To me, it sounds like a bad idea. The best parts about Dexter were the scenes that they couldn't show on basic cable and the things that they couldn't say. Now Deb is going to have absolutely no lines. She might as well be cut out from the show.
Season 2 was soooo much better than the first, and I only have high hopes for season 3. Though yeah, I wished it lasted longer.

Likewise- one of my favorite shows. Ever. Honestly.
I remember watching the first episode when it first came on- it blew me away. To me, the concept is so orginal. And the directing- man, fantastic. I cannot think of a better show.. (*coughbesidesheroescough.* :]) And Michael C. Hall is amazing. Completely committed to his role. It is the exact opposite from his character from when he was on Six Feet Under. I've only seen a couple episodes of that show from time to time, but wow. Amazing. And I am so happy for Julie Benz. I'm glad she's got steady work now - I loved her as Darla in Buffy/Angel. She's also quite the actor- Darla and Rita are polar opposites as well. Julie Benz is finally getting the recognition I think she deserves.

So, Dexter's gonna be on CBS on Sunday. For those of you who don't have showtime... watch it. Even if you're missing out on all the awesomeness that makes it worth it to have digital cable.
Anyhoo, given the WGA and everything it's still better edited than the reruns you've been watching.

So, I finally got around to watching Dexter, and I absolutely love it. Usually, I don't like voice overs in shows that get us into the characters heads or whatever, since I'm more interested in being shown how a character is feeling than being told, but with Dexter, it's essential to his character because of how he acts around everything else. I finished season one a few days ago, and I seriously couldn't stop watching it. Showtime series always seem to have short seasons, around 12 episodes or so, but I really wish they would draw this series out into a full season because I think that there's a lot that they can do with the show. Season two now has my full attention, and though I liked the main storyline in season one more, I'm still loving this show.

Double post, but that's okay.
I just got done watching the season premiere, even if it doesn't air for like three weeks, and it's definitely a solid start to the season. Can't wait for the rest of the season to air.

Triple posting, but whatever. This thread needs love.
I love the way this season is going based on the whole two episodes that I've seen so far (I need to get caught up). I'm not going to talk about it much because I don't have much to base my opinions on this season.
Anyway, onto bigger and better news. Dexter has been officially picked up for 2 more seasons.
Showtime has opted to kill two morally bankrupt murderers birds with one stone, picking up Dexter for two more seasons, it was announced on Tuesday.
Seasons 4 and 5 will consist of 12 episodes each, with production to commence this spring in Los Angeles.
"Dexter's enormous success is a tribute to the great achievements of its cast, the producing team, the author of the original book [Jeff Lindsay], and the gifted Michael C. Hall," says Showtime president of entertainment Robert Greenblatt. "I thought at best we would attract adevoted cult audience but soon realized that, ironically, this show is so thematically rich and layered with humanity that audiences of all kinds have flocked to it."
Hall is a two-time Emmy and Golden Globe nominee for his portrayal of Dex, while the series itself was nominated this year for five Emmys, including Outstanding Drama Series.

I am like 3 episodes behind this season, if not four and I heard it's a really good one when it picks up. Agh, I feel a marathon coming on.

Didn't really like the season finale. Compared to the others, this one was just a complete let down though overall this season was worse to me. I was bored half the time watching it to the point that I forgot there was a season 3 at all. After finishing it, I kind of wish I kept forgetting.
